Cowboys' Splurge Raises Eyebrows
The Dallas Cowboys have rewarded quarterback Dak Prescott with a four-year, $240 million contract, making him the highest paid player in NFL history. Prescott, who has amassed a 2-5 career record in the playoffs and no Super Bowl appearances, will earn an eye-popping $48 million per playoff loss. Or using another metric, $120 million per interception that Dak threw to the Saints on Sunday in their 44-19 demolition of the Cowboys.
This is around 25% of the Cowboys’ salary cap for a single player. The team might consider paying its over-hyped defense a bit more, after the 48-point drubbing the Packers handed Dallas in last season’s wild card home game and this most recent blowout loss to New Orleans.
If you don’t make $60 million a year and win just 29% of your playoff games, remember that you can always find great savings on NFL fan gear and all the sporting goods you love at AMFANS.
