Longhorn Fans Decorate Homefield with Garbage

Austin, TX — The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has slapped Texas with a $250,000 fine after Longhorn fans turned Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium into the world’s largest recycling bin during Saturday’s showdown with Georgia. In the fourth quarter, following a controversial call that erased a Texas touchdown, frustrated fans expressed their displeasure by launching cups, bottles, nacho trays, and Whataburger wrappers onto the field.

The SEC deemed the behavior a serious breach of safety protocols, leading to the significant fine. In its official statement, the SEC emphasized that such behavior cannot be tolerated. “Ensuring player, coach, and official safety is of utmost importance,” the conference said. “The actions of fans in Austin were unacceptable, and the $250,000 fine reflects the severity of the violation.”

Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte acknowledged the fine and called for better fan behavior in the future. “While the passion of our fans is unmatched, throwing objects on the field jeopardizes the safety of everyone involved,” Del Conte said. “We are committed to preventing this from happening again and will be reinforcing security measures to maintain a safe environment.”

On the plus side, Texas invited one fan with an unusually strong arm to back up Longhorn quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning.
